10 Games We Can’t Wait to See on Xbox One and PS4

10 Games We Can’t Wait to See on Xbox One and PS4

Forza is out. Battlefield and Call of Duty are out. Need For Speed is out. There are several titles that have made their new-gen appearance already from their tenure in the last gen. There have been several titles announced to be coming soon for the new gen, but there are a whole bunch of titles that are still “out there in the ether” concerning their arrival to the new gen systems. So we took a few minutes to talk about the ones that we want to see make an appearance on the Xbox One and the PS4.

Chromehounds

Chromehounds

Honestly it’s time for a great mech game to emerge. Chromehounds was close. There have been others, to be sure, but the Xbox One deserves a great mech game that has some serious mass appeal and doesn’t just appeal to tech nerds and mech junkies. So let’s yell loud enough so that Chromehounds gets a shot at the new generation platforms. I think everyone could be pleasantly surprised at how cool multiplayer mechanized combat could be, and with the way that ACIV and Battlefield 4 look on the new gen consoles, this game could be incredible.

Crackdown

Crackdown

Microsoft has teased us with the possibility that there may be another Crackdown game. Well honestly for the Xbox One, there should be. Think about it. If you could take the open-world feel of the game, mix it up with some new level-ups and upgrades, and then add in serious multiplayer game types, the new Crackdown could be a third-person battle of epic proportions. Except this time, throw rules out the window and let us get our free-for-all on. We want to run around the city and be able to destroy anything and anyone in our path (at least I do).

Beautiful Katamari

Beautiful Katamari

An excellent exclusive for the Xbox 360, Katamari captured an innocent sense of wonder and fun as you rolled your ball of junk around and created a new world. Also, the game’s art style was, as the title states, beautiful. So imagine if you took the time to really push the limits of the visuals on a game like Katamari and then brought that re-envisioned title to the Xbox One. It could add up to some seriously beautiful fun and could take the Katamari games to a whole new level.

LittleBigPlanet

LittleBigPlanet

Much like Katamari , LittleBigPlanet was a visually striking game, not to mention that it was a blast to play. While simplistic, the controls were intuitive and highly functional for the game. I don’t know about you but I spent more than my fair share of money upgrading and customizing Sackboy and his friends. So let’s bring that to the PS4 then add in an even more robust multiplayer mode and maybe even amalgamate karting into the mix for a total game experience. Maybe even add all the world-making to a degree that gamers could create an open-world map where they could integrate driving karts as well as standard third-person play. That would be cool.

Alan Wake

Alan Wake

With incredible story-telling games like Beyond: Two Souls and Last of Us , there is absolutely no reason that the Xbox One couldn’t revive Alan Wake and bring the game’s unique style of play and excellent way of storytelling into the next generation of gaming. What if there were some way to make multiple stories that you could choose from at the beginning and then maybe each of the stories cross at a nexus at some point in the game where you could actually interact with other gamers in their game stories? How cool would it be that your choices wouldn’t just affect your game, but someone else’s who just met your character online? That would be totally badass.

SOCOM

SOCOM

Sony’s SOCOM has been a mainstay since its arrival on the Playstation 2. It was one of the first true multiplayer online games for consoles, and was a killer one at that. I spent multiple hours of play every week on SOCOM II . I had my crew that I ran with and we would do our best to get out there and bust some heads every chance we got. So let’s take the lessons learned from SOCOM 4 and bring it to the PS4 then ramp it up a bit. Bring the action a little more into the realm of Ghost Recon , but with a more fully integrated multiplayer system in place. Maybe even make it all online and give us massive amounts of people per match like Battlefield 4 .

Fable

Fable

Those of us who were fans of the series all wanted to slap Peter Molyneux in the face after the last Fable travesty. Microsoft has a brand new system and not a ton of titles for it yet, so let’s get moving, Pete! Bring out another Fable , but preferably one that doesn’t suck this time. Hell, grab up the team from Kingdoms of Amalur . We all know they’re not doing anything right now. Maybe if you took it back to the original formula that made Fable such an endearing title, you wouldn’t have so many people asking why the last outing sucked so bad. Oh, and leave the Kinect out of it this time too.

God of War

God of War

I am not really so sure where Kratos can go at this point, unless of course you start pitting him against other poly-theistic culture’s gods. You know, now that he’s killed all the Greek ones. Oh, maybe he could go after the Hindu gods next. Or maybe the Catholic saints and then kill St. Peter and then God. Honestly I don’t know how Santa Monica could really even make another God of War game and have be anything short of lame. But I am sure that whatever they put out, it will have blood and guts, gods and boobies, and people will buy it. They always do.

Uncharted

Uncharted

Naughty Dog has been busy these past few years. There were people on either side of how they felt about Uncharted 3 . Some felt it was too heavy on multiplayer online and some thought it needed a better ending, while others just kept saying that Uncharted 2 was the best and they should’ve left it there. Truthfully though, the Uncharted series is one of the most awesome game series’ (as far as a solid platform adventure goes) since the original Tomb Raider . Nathan Drake and his cohorts need to make an appearance on PS4. We are pretty sure this will happen anyway, but we just wanted to say it out loud.

Gears of War

Gears of War

Next to Halo , which already has a title announced for the Xbox One, no other title has had the fan base that Gears of War has. As the other exclusive combat franchise that Xbox 360 became famous for, GoW absolutely deserves to have a title in the new generation of gaming. There are so many stories left to tell. Even if you took the stories from the books that were written by Karen Travis as a companion to the games, they could make for some awesome games themselves. On a personal note, I am a huge Gears fan – even more so than Halo – and I would love nothing more than to see a new Gears title on the Xbox One sometime soon, and I know that I am not alone on this.
