Top 7 PSX 2015 Announcements You Should Know About

Top 7 PSX 2015 Announcements You Should Know About

With 2015 being the second PlayStation Experience, Sony certainly had a lot to prove. Would the first event’s success be a fluke? Could this second celebration be as enthralling as the last? All signs are pointing to yes, especially because of seven big PlayStation Experience announcements. A lot of great things were unveiled at the event, and if you missed it, you can catch up on the only information that mattered right now.

MLB The Show 16 Is Coming

MLB The Show 16 Is Coming

The announcement of MLB The Show 16 may not have been the most exciting of Sony’s announcements at the PlayStation Experience, but it was still important. It’s a PlayStation staple. People eagerly wait to enjoy America’s pastime digitally each year and knowing that the next entry will be ready for us on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 come March 29 is definitely good news (even if it is a little sad that no PlayStation Vita version will join them). Plus, the Toronto Blue Jays’ Josh Donaldson looks great on the cover!

Battleborn Stars a Penguin

Everybody is hyped about Gearbox Software’s foray into the world of MOBAs. Battleborn looks like it could be a lot of fun, because of what looks to be an entertaining narrative and plenty of opportunity to work alone or with friends. What was really exciting, though, was the reveal of Toby the Penguin. He’s a PlayStation 4 exclusive character that’s a penguin in a mech suit. He has a huge gun and spiked ball attached to one arm. Also, in his introduction, he says, “Courage, optimism, rivers of blood, teamwork!” and “I am become death, destroyer of world! Gaze upon Toby and despair!” Good guy, Toby.

Street Fighter V Character Reveals

Street Fighter V Character Reveals

We got to learn about so many Street Fighter V characters at the 2015 PlayStation Experience. Seriously, so many ! F.A.N.G. was revealed as Shadaloo’s new contender, rounding out the list of characters who’ll be in the game at launch, bringing with him a new poison technique. You’ve never been able to poison opponents in Street Fighter before! We also found out that Alex, Balrog, Guile, Ibuki, Juri, and Urien will join the roster next year, and anyone who wants them can either play or pay to earn them.

Nathan’s Even Mouthier in Uncharted 4

Press X to pay respects? Not exactly, but Uncharted 4 will have something similar. The first trailer shown at the 2015 PlayStation Experience revealed people will be able to decide what Nathan Drake says to people in his latest game. While it won’t change the confirmed-to-be-linear story, it is interesting to ponder what sorts of revelations could come from getting to choose how he responds. Maybe we’ll get to find out what his favorite doughnut is!

Destiny: The Taken King Adds Sparrow Racing

Destiny: The Taken King Adds Sparrow Racing

Bungie has been killing it when it comes to Destiny . While the game might not have been perfect at launch, everything has changed since The Taken King came along. The weapon, leveling, and questing systems have greatly improved, and now the minigame offerings have as well. Until December 29, a Sparrow Racing League has opened. People can get a license and race to earn exclusive equipment and such. It adds extra variety to an already impressive game!

Ni no Kuni II Is Actually a Thing

Ni no Kuni II Is Actually a Thing

That we’re even getting a second Ni no Kuni is huge. The first was a massive undertaking from Level-5 and Studio Ghibli that was only released on the PlayStation 3. Now, the PlayStation 4 is getting a sequel that presents people with another lush, animated JRPG world. The first game impressed with its characters, monster collecting, and vibrant environments, and one can only hope the sequel will be just as grand.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Be Episodic

Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Be Episodic

We learned so much about the Final Fantasy VII Remake at this year’s PlayStation Experience. The trailer was fantastic, because it showed a battle system that seemed reminiscent of both Dissidia Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts , showed Cloud going through Midgar’s streets and ruins, and featured some pretty spot-on voice acting. At the same time, we also learned this remake is going to be an episodic adventure, which is a drastic departure for the series. Love or hate what Square Enix had to show, but you can’t deny the announcements were big and got people talking!
