5 Reasons Black Ops III Fans Need the Eclipse DLC

5 Reasons Black Ops III Fans Need the Eclipse DLC

It’s time to dust off your copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops III and jump back into the thick of things. The game’s latest DLC, Eclipse, is set to release April 19 and this one is certainly worth your download. I know what you’re thinking, another flimsy DLC to prolong the title for another few months until the new installment is released, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Let’s take a look at why Eclipse is loaded up with some sweet DLC goodness.

Replay Value

Replay Value

This one might be a no-brainer, but Eclipse certainly adds a significant amount of additional replay value to Black Ops III . Even with a slew of awesome games released in the last few months, this latest DLC from Treyarch is exactly what gamers need to kickstart their binge Call of Duty playing again. I certainly haven’t touched the game in some time and Eclipse is the perfect reason for me to jump back in the saddle and ensure my digital friends still exist on PSN.

Mortal Kombat is Back!

Mortal Kombat is Back!

Well, sort of, but not in the form you or I would truly like to see. Knockout is one of four multiplayer maps featured in the April 19 release. Its design mirrors that of a Mortal Kombat arena and presents some equally brutal fatalities along the way. This mid-sized fortress of terror should present some tightened sightlines as you and the crew pretend to hunt Sub Zero and Reptile.

Spire of Fire

I suggest you buy an extra controller before jumping into the new Spire map because you just might want to shatter your Dualshock 4 into a million pieces. This intense mid-ranged map throws every player directly into the fire – no room for you to hide, my camping brethren. The really unique aspect in this map is its unforgiving layout that could send your body tumbling to a hilarious death below. This one should test both your wits and your patience as a human.

The Undead Never Die

The next chapter in the zombie fight is finally here. Zetsubou No Shima provides a brand new world for you and your buddies to mow down the undead. Set in the Pacific islands, you now have to battle against an entirely new force – Element 115 and it’s mutating effects on every living thing in its path.

Verge

Verge might very well be the only reason to purchase the Eclipse DLC if the others just didn’t quite do it for you. If you thought the map looked familiar, you were spot on – it’s a remake of the Banzai from Call of Duty: World at War . Not only was this perhaps the best map to come out of World at War , but it’s been improved to fit Black Ops III ’s unique features.
