Top 10 Games That’ll Rock This Year’s E3

Top 10 Games That’ll Rock This Year’s E3

It’s going to be a good year. At least, E3 2016’s certainly making it seem that way. The LA Convention Center is decked out in its finest. The Witcher’ s Ciri suddenly has a smartphone. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 ad campaigns are at war. You’re wondering how many TVs, computers, and tablets you can watch at once so no livestreams are missed. What a time to be alive!

Still, with so much going on at E3 2016, you don’t want to split your attention too much. Now’s a good time to buckle down and focus on what’s important. Hey, don’t worry. We’re here to help. There are ten E3 games that could end up being the best at the show.

Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2

The original Titanfall was a good game, but it had too small a scope. If it’d been multiplatform to start, it’d have received the success and attention it deserved, staying relevant for far longer than it did. With Titanfall 2 coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, everyone’s going to enjoy incredible mech and first-person shooting action. Things’ll be so much better this time around, and it’ll get the attention it deserves.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Do you know why Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is going to rock this E3? Because Activision is going in with something to prove. Some people hated the debut trailer that showed the formula they’ve enjoyed for years changed. E3 is a chance to show how different can be a good thing and win people over. This game is going to go all out to impress us with features, characters, maps, and weapons, and we should keep an open mind this time.

The Last Guardian

The Last Guardian

Enough blustering! The Last Guardian is finally, finally going to be here. We get to play it at E3 2016! Now, I don’t want everyone getting their hopes up too high. With all the development woes, there is a chance this game won’t end up being too extraordinary. It could have suffered some wounds in the process. But knowing it’s really here, in a full-bodied form is huge. Let’s get excited now that we’re finally seeing the real thing!

Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs 2

Here’s the thing about Ubisoft series. The first entries usually aren’t amazing. Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Driver are all examples. The initial installments are good and worth making more of, but it’s subsequent entries that start reaching levels of true greatness. Watch Dogs had some issues. Now that Ubisoft knows what does and doesn’t work, Watch Dogs 2 has an opportunity to be incredible. We should be very hyped about this one!

Crackdown 3

Crackdown 3

It has been way too long since we enjoyed a Crackdown game, and everything we’ve heard about Crackdown 3 up ’till now has sounded amazing. A game where you can destroy everything? And it happens in real time thanks to cloud computing? And your car is basically a Transformer that can shift its appearance to alter its skills? This is going to be an amazing way to take down criminals. This is going to be great. It’ll be one of E3 2016’s superstars.

Injustice 2

Injustice 2

So Batman vs. Superman may not have been the superhero throwdown you wanted. And now that Injustice is three years old, it’s not exactly your go-to fighter. Injustice 2 is going to change that. All of our favorite heroes and villains are back, fighting against each other. Naturally, new folks are showing up to the party. Plus, the added bonus of getting equipment from battles to improve these icons makes it even more appealing. Here’s hoping for hands-on time with it at E3!

Gears of War 4

Gears of War 4

Gears of War is a system seller and, frankly, the Xbox One needs its own, original installment. Gears of War 4 is just that. We’ve played the beta. We’ve met Marcus and Anya’s son, J.D. Now, we need to see for ourselves what that final project we’re going to adore in October will look like. Enough hype. Enough buildup. Let’s see J.D. take his first steps toward saving the day at E3 2016.

Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV is finally happening. It’s going to be out this year. We’re going to see if the ten years spent in development were worth it. Early indications suggest it’s something special. The demo that was released earlier this year and took us through Noctis’ dreams was promising, with a tight battle system and clear look at the some of the locations, as well as its day to night and weather cycles. Now, we’re going to finally go on the ultimate fantasy road trip with our bros at E3 2016. I think it’s going to be a fun ride.

Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1

Everyone loves Battlefield 1. We barely even know anything about it, other than it’s set during World War I, there are some cool looking characters, and look! Our avatar is in a plane! Okay, it sounds pretty great. But at E3 2016, we’re getting our first chance to really see it. And not only see, but play it too! The game will be ready to test out, so we’ll know if that now-legendary debut trailer was accurate when it made it seem like the best thing ever.

The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda

We Wii U owners need a win. We don’t get that many good games! And the new The Legend of Zelda has been teased for so long. A glimpse of Link here. A peek at some art squirreled away in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD there. But at E3 2016, nothing’s being held back anymore. We get to see this new game for what it is, savor it, and hope Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is enough to tide us over until it’s released.
