10 Things We LOVE in GTA (That Should Return)

10 Things We LOVE in GTA (That Should Return)

Grand Theft Auto V is an amazing game. It’s the sort of experience that defines a console generation. It’s sold over 60 million copies, as of February 2016. Its reach extends to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s a favorite of many people, and rightfully so! This installment has brought so many new gameplay elements to the series. It’s extraordinary.

GTA V has made so much of a difference, we hope that these 10 parts of the game show up in Rockstar’s next GTA installment.

Weapon Wheel

Weapon Wheel

Know what’s convenient? GTA V ‘s weapon wheel. It’s an easy way to quickly go through all of the available armaments on hand. Bring it up, scroll to what you like, and use it for the task at hand. It’s so simple and easy, and this is a feature that needs to be around in the next GTA game.

Weapon Attachments

Weapon Attachments

Weapon modifications make so much sense. You can alter and adjust them to your liking in real life, so we should be able to in GTA too! GTA V was the first game in the series to offer attachments like extended clips, drum magazines, flashlights, grips, scopes, and suppressors, all of which impact gameplay. They can really making shooting easier in-game, and the next GTA should let us customize guns too.

Extra Car Customization Options

Extra Car Customization Options

We were able to enjoy so many extras in our cars in GTA V . The dashboards were detailed and functional, something you could really appreciate in the first person mode on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We could add neon underglow lights, which were super stylish. And honestly? I kind of love the musical horns. None of these things are absolutely essential additions. They’re silly things that make the experience more fun and our cars stand out. It’d be nice if they came back.

Submarines

Submarines

GTA V was the first entry in the series that let us go under the sea. You could get a Kraken or Submersible and head underwater. Considering the times when entering the water was instant death in the series, it was wonderful to venture under the sea without any repercussions. It’d be great to see these vehicles return, along with more activities for them, in the next game.

Random Events

Random Events

GTA is always set in these bustling cities, but we rarely get the chance to interact with ordinary people. GTA V changed that with San Andreas’ random events. There were over 50 in the game, some of them offering multiple resolution options. Various rewards will be doled out for the activities, making it possible to get increased stats, more money, or equipment. Each one was an unexpected diversion that let you take a break from your normal activities to positively or negatively influence the people in the city. It’d be wonderful if the next GTA game also picked up on this feature and ran with it.

Rockstar Editor and Director Mode

Rockstar Editor and Director Mode

GTA V gave us unprecidented control over our games. It evolved GTA IV ‘s Replay with the Rockstar Editor, allowing people on PS4s, Xbox Ones, and PCs to put together edited gameplay videos. Director Mode would let you set scenes up, picking an actor that can roam in a free mode map you put together, allowing you to enjoy experiences you wouldn’t normally have. Both offered all sorts of customization options, and it’d be wonderful to enjoy that sort of freedom in a follow-up.

Peyote Experiences

Peyote Experiences

Speaking of freedom, GTA V let us do the unexpected. If people were willing to hike around the map for peyote, they’d be able to transform into animals. You know, ordinary things like birds, dogs, fish, and sasquatch. It was a crazy reward for people willing to go above and beyond, one of the best Easter eggs in the game, and it’d be fun to have something similar in the next installment.

First Person Mode

First Person Mode

GTA V is an amazing third person shooter and open world game, but know what? It works in the first person too. When it came to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this new feature was a major selling point. We could see everything through Michael, Franklin, and Trevor’s eyes, and it was pretty amazing. It was a whole new experience, and I bet it could be refined and improved in the next entry. Maybe there’ll even be VR support!

Multiple Playable Characters

Multiple Playable Characters

GTA V did something rather daring, in terms of storytelling. We didn’t have one character to focus on. There were three: Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. Each one was a unique personality with his own reactions to situations and events. Having three protagonists made GTA V feel like a fuller, richer game. It’d be great if the next game could also offer the same sort of experiment.

GTA Online

GTA Online

GTA Online is undoubtedly one of the coolest parts of GTA V . It’s this constantly growing community with new events, challenges, versus modes, cars, homes, and equipment. You can hop in and engage in all sorts of interactions with friends and strangers alike, and Rockstar has been great about keeping this online compoent updated. If the next GTA doesn’t offer an updated version of and continued access to GTA Online , then it should definitely offer us something like GTA Online 2 .
