Top 10 Most Famous People in Call of Duty

Top 10 Most Famous People in Call of Duty

Call of Duty is famous for its gameplay, but you may not realize it’s also notable for all the iconic actors who make up its cast. Yes, this is a series that has been struck by star power. I’m not just talking about recent entries too. We all know Game of Thrones ‘ Kit Harrington, UFC ‘s Conor McGreggor, and the ridiculously prolific Seth Green are alll appearing in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare . We know Kevin Spacey was tapped to play Jonathan Irons in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Jeff Goldblum was cast as Nero in Call of Duty: Black Ops III . But, these are only a few examples in a line of actors who have found places in this series over the years. Let’s go over some people you might not realize also stood tall as soldiers in Call of Duty .

Giovanni Ribisi

Giovanni Ribisi

Giovanni Ribisi has been acting since he was eleven years old. We’ve seen him grow up on screen. Most recently, he’s been in Ted 2 , Dads , and Selma . It’s only fitting that he was there in the original Call of Duty too. He played Private Elder, a paratrooper in the 82nd Airbourne Division who helped us through our adventures. His presence helps prove that Call of Duty left us star struck from the start.

Timothy Olyphant

Timothy Olyphant

Timothy Olyphant is one of those “oh, yeah!” actors. You know the ones. The name might not ring a bell, but when you hear or see him, you suddenly recognize him. “Oh, yeah! That guy!” Though you probably recognize him from Justified and The Grinder now, he was Sergeant First Class Grinch in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ’s Delta Force.

Ed Harris

Ed Harris

Ed Harris is one of those actors who looks like he was born to play a soldier or cop. And boy, have casting directors taken advantage of that. He was General Starkey in The Stand , General Francis X. Hummel in The Rock , Major Konig in Enemy at the Gates , and Colonel Berman in Buffalo Soldiers . Somehow, it only figures that he’d have found his way into a Call of Duty game, and he did in Call of Duty: Black Ops . He was Special Agent Jason Hudson and did a good job of representing the CIA operative.

Keith David

Keith David

Keith David is an incredible actor with 268 credits on IMDB . As you can imagine, this means he’s no stranger to video games. You may remember him as the voice of Halo ’s Arbiter, both Julius and Vice President Keith David in Saints Row , Admiral David Anderson in Mass Effect , Barricade in the Transformers games, and Decker in Fallout . Seems like he would be slacking off if he wasn’t in a Call of Duty game, so naturally he’s Viktor Reznov in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 .

Kiefer Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland

Everybody made a big deal about Kiefer Sutherland voicing Snake in Metal Gear Solid V . I mean sure, he was replacing the iconic David Hayter, but it wasn’t like he’d never appeared in a game before. No, I’m not talking about 2006’s 24: The Game , where he reprised his role as Jack Bauer. He appeared in Call of Duty: World at War as Sergeant Roebuck too!

Ice Cube

Ice Cube

When it comes to Ice Cube, you tend to associate his video game appearances with his music. His songs appeared in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas , Grand Theft Auto V , and Midnight Club: Los Angeles . But, he also had a speaking role in an actual game. If you played Call of Duty: Black Ops , then Chief Petty Officer Joseph Bowman, also known as Ice Cube, was on your team. Though you probably already knew that, since his character looked just like him.

Michael Keaton

Michael Keaton

Michael Keaton is a great character actor. He’s one of those people you might not even recognize as being in a movie unless someone points it out, as he does a good job of completely immersing himself in the role. Which means there’s a chance you didn’t notice he replaced Ed Harris as Jason Hudson in Call of Duty: Black Ops II .

Will Arnett

Will Arnett

This next one is rather obscure. Will Arnett is a famous actor. He’s quite recognizable and tends to show up in parts where the people highlight the fact that Arnett is portraying a character. Well, that didn’t happen with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 . You’ll have to pay really close attention the next time you play, as he was used as “additional voice talent” in that game.

Idris Elba

Idris Elba

Idris Elba has some huge roles ahead of him. He’s going to be Roland in the Dark Tower , Heimdall in Thor: Ragnarok , and recently was Krall in Star Trek Beyond , Kent in Guerrilla , Shere Khan in The Jungle Book , and Chief Bogo in Zootopia . One has to wonder if he’d even have time for a Call of Duty game now. Fortunately, we already were able to enjoy his performance as Delta Force’s Sergeant First Class Truck in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 .

Jason Statham

Jason Statham

Our last actor brings us back to the beginning again. We’ve come full circle! Way back when Jason Statham was making a name for himself playing characters like Turkish in Snatch , Bacon in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels , Handsome Rob in The Italian Job , and Frank Martin in The Transporter , he took a role in the very first Call of Duty game. He was the voice of Sergeant Waters. Naturally, he was one of the British soldiers. It’s funny to think that was his eleventh acting role.
