Top 10 Games to End 2016 With a Bang!

Top 10 Games to End 2016 With a Bang!

2016 has been a fantastic year for games, but the best is yet to come. Over these last three months of the year, tons of amazing handheld, console, and PC games are going to make our game libraries better than ever. There’s so much to do and see ahead of us, that we have to spend a little bit of time saluting the 10 best games you’ll see in October, November, and December 2016. Each of these titles will take you on fantastic journeys and draw you into worlds you won’t want to leave. So open up Amazon in another tab, because you’re going to be adding some games to your wishlist today!

Dragon Quest Builders

Dragon Quest Builders

Dragon Quest Builders is one of my favorite games released this year. It’s already out and trust me when I say it’s good. This adventure puts you in the shoes of a Dragon Quest hero that’s a legendary builder. Set after the bad end of the original Dragon Quest , you have to rebuild the entire world. Think of it as Minecraft with RPG elements and a storyline. It’s easy to get caught up collecting materials, building towns, helping villagers, and saving the day.

Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2

Did you play Dishonored ? Don’t worry. You won’t be too left out with Dishonored 2 if you didn’t. In fact, you may even have a better time, as the sequel is going to offer all sorts of refinements to make assassinations and other activities smoother and more interesting. Corvo and Emily each have their own unique abilities and powers, with skill trees that let you decide what each character is capable of. Speaking of which, you can decide exactly how they do or don’t play. It’s possible to be stealthy or obvious, as well as a pacifist or chaotic agent who kills any member of the opposition. You decide who these characters are and how their stories go.

Gears of War 4

Gears of War 4

Gears of War 4 is out now, so I don’t have to tell you how cool this game is. The whole new storyline following J.D. Fenix, Marcus’ son, is interesting. It lets us see his kid shine and prove himself. The online multiplayer works well, and there’s a full coverage plan to ensure we’ll always have something to do with friends and strangers over the next year. It’s certainly proven itself to be an admirable entry in the Gears of War series, and I imagine plenty of people will be buying an Xbox One to play it this holiday season.

Dead Rising 4

Dead Rising 4

A bloody, undead Christmas, that is. Dead Rising 4 puts Frank West back in the spotlight as we head to the mall for festive fighting again. Even though this entry is going to be retreading familiar ground, it certainly looks better than ever before. Especially since Frank has an Exo Suit this time, to cause extra damage, and there’s no timer forcing us to rush through our zombie fighting brawls. As one of the few games coming out in December, it’ll give us something to enjoy all month after launching on December 6.

Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2

What was your biggest issue with Titanfall ? Was it that you didn’t feel you had enough personal space to just be by yourself? You’re going to see that remedied with Titanfall 2 , the first entry in the series with a single-player campaign. Titans are bigger, better, and more intuitive. The game does a better job of connecting you to the action with an actual story. There are better matchmaking, rating, and skill systems. You can even join a Network with your friends to add a little bit of camraderie when you get competitive online. There’ve been a lot of improvements, and you’ll be able to see for yourself on October 28.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

We already know Skyrim is a great game. I know people who have spent upwards of 200 hours exploring it. It might just be the best The Elder Scrolls installment ever. And, on October 28, we’re going to get to go through all of it again. Except this time, it’ll be prettier, we’ll have all the DLC available at once, and, for the first time, mods will be available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. Even if you’ve already gone over every part of Skyrim, I’m sure there’s something you haven’t seen that will draw you back into this game.

Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon looks like it could be one of the most innovative entries in the series. We have trials instead of gyms. There are Ultra Beasts with unknown identities to fight. In addition to new Pokemon, old ones will have original Alola forms. New moves and abilities are available, including Z-Moves that can be triggered once per battle. And let’s not forget the improved Hyper Training and the Pokemon Snap -inspired elements. Who’s ready to go on a journey on November 18?

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Here’s the thing about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare . Even if you aren’t excited about one part of it, you could be hyped up for the other. I mean, on November 4, we’re getting two games! One’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered , which we already know is one of the best entries in the series ever. The other is the entirely new, futuristic Infinite Warfare . Once you see the latter in action, you might change your mind about blasting off into the future to take us from Earth to the stars. And, even if you don’t, an updated version of a classic will make your month.

Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1

Everything about Battlefield 1 looks cool. The storylines that follow soldiers from the period look interesting. The 64-person battles are amazing. We’re getting to ride around in historically accurate planes, vehicles, and zeppelins. There will even be environments that can be destroyed or inflict all sorts of gameplay-inpacting weather. This looks like it could be a fantastic shooter that we’ll be able to enjoy for weeks, months, and years to come. Just hold on until October 21!

Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV is a game 10 years in the making. It’s gone through numerous transitions and alterations. Now, the road trip is finally at an end. We’re going to hop into a car and ride along with Noctis and his friends, Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis. They have a lot of their plate as they attempt to save Lucis’ stolen crystal, find out what happened to Noctis’ fiance and father, and generally save the day. Things are going to be good, come November 29.
