5 Reasons You’ll Love Zombies in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

5 Reasons You’ll Love Zombies in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

It’s Call of Duty week here at Cheat Code Central as we approach the November 4 launch of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare . The game may be releasing a few days after Halloween, but you can stay in the holiday spirit with Zombies in Spaceland , a multiplayer mode featuring hordes of zombies and more ’80s attitude than you can shake a glowstick at. Join me as we explore five of the game’s most frighteningly festive features.

’80s Characters Galore

’80s Characters Galore

Zombies in Spaceland features four playable characters ripped straight out of a slasher film. This time, however, they’ll be the ones doing the slashing… and the shooting… and the exploding. You’ll take the role of either A.J. the Jock, Sally the Valley Girl, Andre the Rapper, or Poindexter the Nerd in this cooperative fight for survival. Just, uh, don’t look for anything resembling nuanced characterization here.

Ride and Die

Ride and Die

Out of ammo? Backed into a corner? Lure your zombie foes into one of Spaceland’s booby-trapped rides, like the laser disco ball room. Remember the laser sequence in the first Resident Evil movie? Imagine that, except with all of those deadly beams reflecting off of a glittering ball of disco death. Not a party I’d like to attend, but as far as zombie-killing methods go, you could do much worse.

New Weapons Aplenty

New Weapons Aplenty

In addition to the existing suite of weapons from Infinite Warfare ‘s standard multiplayer mode, Zombies in Spaceland introduces a number of new weapons to the mix. The Face Melter pistol’s energy bullets cause zombies to launch into the air, and when they explode, their fiery remains rain down on their unlucky cohorts. Killing a zombie with the Dischord pistol, meanwhile, makes it fly into a wild lariat that takes down other nearby brain-eaters. Eat your brain out, Zangief.

High Score = Fight More

High Score = Fight More

If you’re unlucky enough to lose your life to the zombie horde, you’ll find yourself playing in the Afterlife Arcade. Its retro-style cabinets feature minigames that reward high-scoring players with another shot at life. You may even recognize some of these games from Activision’s history, although they aren’t quite as you remember them. See, all that time you spent honing your gaming skills wasn’t a waste after all!

I Want Candy (to Crush My Foes)

I Want Candy (to Crush My Foes)

Throughout Spaceland, you’ll find boxes of theater-style candy that grant temporary power-ups when consumed. These power-ups are essentially perks, and come in a variety of flavors. Trail Blazers add a fiery follow-up to your sliding ability, Mule Munchies grant a third gun slot, and Slappy Taffy adds a powerful knockback effect to melee attacks. Sounds like a treat for you, but a trick for any zombies foolish enough to stand in your way. Zombies in Spaceland affords you no shortage of zombie-slaying options, so get out there and have a blast when the game launches on November 4.
