5 Epic Ways the COD Remaster Blew Us Away

5 Epic Ways the COD Remaster Blew Us Away

Activision’s recent release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was lackluster at best for a franchise that still holds the greatest first-person shooting mechanics ever. The game wasn’t bad; it just wasn’t anything new or exciting from the popular publisher. On the flip side, it does come packed with a remastered version of Modern Warfare , which is fricking fantastic. In fact, the remaster might just be better than the new one. Let’s take a look at the 5 reasons COD: Modern Warfare Remastered makes it totally worth buying the Legacy edition of Infinite Warfare .

Resurrected

Resurrected

Infinity Ward managed to resurrect one of the best first-person shooters of all time. For me, this game will go down as one of the top 3 best shooters within the last two decades.  The awesome part to all of this remastered hype is that it’s actually justified. The game looks and feels beautiful with new textures, cut-scenes to complement improved sounds and slightly quicker controls.

Campaign

Campaign

Modern Warfare ’s campaign mode will always be one of the most riveting stories in gaming. For me, it completed the game from top to bottom. Captain Price and the main protagonist, Sergeant Soap, were two characters players could get behind for the long haul. They pulled you in and made for a much more immersive experience.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer

The campaign mode within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is just as fantastic as it was several years ago. That part goes without saying. However, the multiplayer mode offered within the remastered edition is impressive. To see these classic multiplayer maps brought back on a more polished platform is really a sight. Getting back to the days when sniper rifles were useful at long range is something I’ve really missed about the series.

Back to The Basics

Back to The Basics

There’s something humbling about being thrown back into the old school way of first-person shooting. Remove the jet pack, slide thrusts, and the general increased strength and speed abilities; you’re left with plain old man vs. man. It feels a bit dated but it’s fantastic to relive this way of fighting.

Time Paradox

Time Paradox

This wouldn’t be a Call of Duty game without an epic Easter egg. The developers put in the “Time Paradox” trophy for gamers to obtain by killing Makarov during the One Shot, One Kill mission. Of course, we don’t get to pop off Makarov until two titles later, but it’s totally awesome to be able to do so here in the remastered version. Just make sure you aim at the second jeep after taking out Zakhaev.
