Top 10 Most Awesome PS4 Exclusives (So Far)

Top 10 Most Awesome PS4 Exclusives (So Far)

Have you noticed all the talk about exclusive games this generation? It’s unavoidable. “The Xbox One isn’t getting enough exclusives.” “Is the Switch relying on too many exclusives?” Sometimes, it seems like there’s only one system with a happy medium, the PlayStation 4. It’s got plenty of games coming up, like Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War, Death Stranding, Ni no Kuni II , and The Last of Us Part II . Before we get swamped with new exclusives, though, let’s look back at the 10 best ones the system has received so far.

Driveclub

Driveclub

Did anyone else get the impression that, if there was one thing Sony wanted more than anything in the world, it was for PlayStation 4 owners to be playing Driveclub ? This racing game was everywhere. There was a full version. There was a free PlayStation Plus release. There’s even the new Driveclub VR , which is a PlayStation VR exclusive edition of the game. As long as you can play online, you can’t beat this PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Rez Infinite

Rez Infinite

When it comes to PlayStation 4 exclusives, Rez Infinite pulls double duty. This rhythmic shooter isn’t only one of the best experiences for the system, it’s one of the few reasons to own a PlayStation VR. This on-rails game is such a rush, pulling you in as you need to fight enemies and bosses in time with the beat. It’s just a shame we can’t all wear a VR vibrating suit as we play!

Until Dawn

Until Dawn

We know all the horror story tropes. A group of young adults go up to some cabin in the woods. Horrors ensue. No one is smart enough to just completely leave, which means a sexy and scary romp until perhaps one person is left standing. Until Dawn toys with that idea, and even offers some twists on the formula. An adventure game that’s heavy on quick time events, this interesting title is alternately horrifying and hilarious. As an added bonus, it’s available for at a bargain price and has multiple endings. It’s a solid PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Ratchet & Clank

Ratchet & Clank

Ratchet & Clank has always been a PlayStation staple, so it only makes sense that one of the best PlayStation 4 exclusives is a Ratchet & Clank reboot. The story is refined, there are better shooting elements and weapons, we can visit more places, and it even has an engaging challenge mode. It reminds us why we love the series and PlayStation consoles.

Gravity Rush 2

Gravity Rush 2

The Gravity Rush series is reminiscent of Studio Ghibli movies. As much attention is paid to things you’ll see and perhaps do as the missions and side-quests. The PlayStation 4-exclusive sequel, Gravity Rush 2 , is so extensive that it practically feels like multiple games in one package. Kat’s story is finally well explained, we get new places to explore, and everything looks absolutely gorgeous along the way. She’s not your average superheroine!

Killzone Shadow Fall

Killzone Shadow Fall

Killzone Shadow Fall is a game you should know. The sixth entry in the series, it’s one of the best selling titles on the PlayStation 4. It’s probably the prettiest Killzone game, has a more open-ended campaign, and offers wonderful multiplayer modes. It’s a first-person shooter that isn’t afraid to try new things, even if that meant a few kinks in the story and AI. It made the system’s launch better and brighter.

The Last Guardian

The Last Guardian

For a long time, The Last Guardian was this ephemeral thing. Did it exist? Would it actually release? It took its time getting here, but it did make it to the PlayStation 4. This adventure has us following a young man and his mythological beast, Trico, as they attempt to escape a tower. While the controls aren’t always the best and its roots as a PlayStation 3 title show through, you can’t deny Trico’s lovability and the ingenuity of the game.

inFamous: Second Son

inFamous: Second Son

inFamous: Second Son was one of the PlayStation 4’s first exclusives, and it remains one of its best. In this superhero tale, we meet a young man who isn’t exactly thrilled with the idea of his powers. We guide him through Seattle as we decide the sort of man he’s going to be. Then, in the stand-alone expansion Infamous: First Light , we followed his ally, Fetch, through her story. Both showed an early glimpse of the things the system would be capable of and told a good story.

Bloodborne

Bloodborne

While everyone gets to enjoy Dark Souls , only PlayStation 4 owners get Bloodborne . This brutally difficult yet engrossing action game forces you to try to defeat numerous, terrifying beasts. It has an amazingly detailed world filled with all sorts of stories, customizable characters, wonderfully challenging enemies, and a great multiplayer experience. We’re lucky to have it.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

At this point in time, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is the best PlayStation 4 exclusive you can get. The storytelling is amazing. It’s visually stunning. The gameplay has these perfect moments where even people who normally aren’t comfortable with third-person shooters can enjoy themselves. There’s a great multiplayer mode. To make it even better, the Survival mode was added last month, giving you even more reason to come back and play. Uncharted 4 is the system’s best exclusive, and one of the best games of this generation.
