5 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do in Breath of the Wild

5 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do in Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is fantastic. It’s a return to The Legend of Zelda glory many gamers, like myself, never thought would be possible. In fact, this resurrection of the series has many gamers feeling like Nintendo is finally starting to regain its stride. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a great game with loads of cool features and experiences. We’ve taken the liberty to highlight the five of things you didn’t know you could do in it. Let’s take a look.

Fit for a King

One of the more interesting aspects about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is your ability to literally cook on Death Mountain. Yep, those smoldering cracks in the surface are actually a ripe platform to turn your ripe apples into baked apples and your raw prime meat into seared prime steak. Although, it’s not the most efficient use of your edible materials, it’s still pretty awesome.

Deer-back Riding

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will allow players to jump on the backs of wild deer. I know, shocking that the deer scattered throughout the game can be used for more than shooting arrows at and harvesting meat. They do, however, come with a few downside. You can’t board them in a stable, which is a pretty hilarious sight to see, and they constantly try to buck you off.

Eggs Anyone?

If you’re in desperate need of a few eggs to cap off an epic recipe, all you’ll need to do is fine a few chickens to lay them for you. A few swipes of your sword will force the cuccos, basically chickens, to lay eggs immediately after. Of course, there are repercussions for swiping a cucco too many times. It can trigger all out chicken warfare, where dozens of cuccos simultaneously attack you.

Tree Climber

Another cool aspect of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is, without a doubt, the ability to climb trees. In fact, it’s so much fun to climb the hundreds of trees across the open world, Shigeru Miyamoto himself spent a majority of his first look climbing them. That’s pretty hilarious, considering Miyamoto created The Legend of Zelda series with much more in mind than simple tree climbing. Nonetheless, the game provides players the ability to do so.

Man’s Best Friend

If you’re a dog lover, you’re going to enjoy this one. If you manage to stumble upon a few of the stray pups littered about, toss a slab of meat or an apple at their paws. They’ll happily indulge your treat and return the favor by leading you to a nearby secret, which usually involves some type of treasure chest. They’ll even tag along for a bit after, if you’re lucky.
