Top 5 Things We Want in Destiny 2

Top 5 Things We Want in Destiny 2

Bungie and Activision finally confirmed the official released date of Destiny 2 . Set for a September 8 release, determining what’s coming next in the follow-up to Bungie’s first biggest title since Halo has largely been left up to player’s imagination. Aside from a generic trailer and a shifty website blurb, we’re left with minimal knowledge. The biggest question remains – is Destiny 2 going to be worth your time? That remains to be seen, but let’s take a look at our wish list of five things that we want to see in the new version.

More Suros

More Suros

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Suros Regime sent me right back to the nostalgic days of the early Halo series. Everything about that weapon was perfect. It had fantastic accuracy, the rate of fire, decent magazine size, and that oh so sweet sound of systematically squeezing off new rounds. The gun was nothing but pure Bungie genius. Disregard the fact they nerfed it and basically gave the thing away to every player in true Activision “game balancing” fashion. Nonetheless, we want to see more of beautifully engineered weapons like that. Keep them impressive and rare.

Better Raids

Better Raids

Let’s face it, Destiny ’s raids were pretty awesome when they first launched. Unfortunately, they seemed to get stale after time. Destiny 2 needs to bring the heat with of unique raid offerings. Nothing beats getting a group of friends together to battle it out into the wee hours of the morning. We just need some substance to justify pulling an all-nighter. That means more quality raids and less grinding through similar scenarios.

Better Loot

Better Loot

Destiny 2 needs to flip, bend, flex, brake, and completely recreate the loot system. Don’t force us to grind our way through mindless trials in order to obtain the epic loot we so desire. I’m not asking for a handout, just make it more interesting along the way. Oh, and make sure when we do complete those epic raids, we get more than stupid shards and generic cloaks. Give us a decent reward for hamming out four hours worth of awesomeness.

Let It Be

Let It Be

Stop nerfing weapons and altering game physics in an effort to reach as many gamers and wallets as possible. It’s time to define Destiny 2 as a competitive game that some people are just going to suck at. Not everyone gets a trophy in real life, so stop peeling back sound development decisions in order to appeal to the kids who keep getting destroyed by better players. There’s nothing better than knocking off that one guy who’s been destroying players each and every round. We like competition, Bungie.

Open World

Open World

Bungie needs to pull out all the stops and make Destiny 2 into a series of open world planets. Take notes from Horizon: Zero Dawn and improve the structure so it can support a massive open world filled with people, missions, raids, and the Iron Banner. Open world is the wave of the future and makes experiencing games so much more exciting. Make it happen, Bungie.
