It’s mid-December and I am already sick and tired of the cold. If it weren’t for the fact that my two favorite holidays were coming up (Christmas and New Year’s), I would be completely miserable, but as such, I refuse to let Old Man Winter get me down this year. I was talking to some cosplay friends of mine here recently and realized that they have pulled off some seriously hot cosplays this year. So I wanted to take a minute to take a look at some of these seriously sexy inspirations. No I’m not posting the cosplayers, but I am posting the babes that gave them the ideas. The cosplays that gave me ideas. Just sayin’.
Zero Suit Samus
Ever since this little tart came along, I have been absolutely enamored with the game and all its science-fictiony goodness. But apart from all that, I loved the fact that the protagonist of the Metroid series was a female–A smokin’ hot, badass female. So yeah, Samus isn’t real. None of the girls on this list are. But then you go to SDCC, E3 or DragonCon and they suddenly become as real as you and me. Some beauty decides she wants to be Samus Aran and sports a light blue, skin-tight body suit that hugs her in all the right places and boom…she’s real.
Hatsune Miku
I don’t care if you hate the games, there is a cute factor that only Miku possesses that makes those games a little more fun to play. Apart from all the games though, there’s the franchising. Miku is everywhere, but nowhere is she more prevalent than in Japanese professional car and motorcycle racing. She graces the hoods of race cars and the fuel tanks of top-speed motorcycles. Her music is everywhere, and Korg effects pedals just created a Miku Stomp guitar pedal that makes your instrument sound like her. Tell me she’s not hot. There are eleventy-billion people that disagree.
Boss
There’s just something about a hot woman in a flight suit that’s fits a little too well. From experience in air bases all over, there is nothing hotter. Except maybe a hot lady in a flight suit that can kick your ass, pick you up and dust you off, and then kick your ass again. One that tortures you as much as she touches you. That kind of extreme dichotomy in a woman is just incredibly sexy. The kind that could kill you if she wanted to but keeps you around because she wants you. Badass.
Lilith
Okay. So maybe she’s a little unstable. Maybe she has a little too much of an affinity for possessing more power to be able to thwart her foes. Maybe she’s a little insecure. But what she lacks in these areas, she more than makes up for in hotness. She’s the Eridium-fueled siren that packs every bit as much of a punch as she does a purr. She’s very sweet underneath but hides it under the gruff and cynical veneer – presumably to protect herself from emotional harm. She has great strength and great heart. But more than that, she’s got a great booty. Seriously, check it out.
Skylar St. Claire
If you haven’t heard of this character before then you are missing out not only on one of the sexiest women in a video game ever, you are missing out on a seriously cool game. She starts out as the “back in the day” love interest of Sean Devlin. But by the time she meets up with you again, you find out she’s actually a sexy spy for the British Intelligence Service and is working with the OSS. She’s the sexiest woman to ever sport a bomber jacket. She’s a fast talker, a fast driver and a fast mover who doesn’t believe in wasting a single moment of one’s last.
Kitana (Mortal Kombat)
Kitana is the princess of the other-dimensional realm of Edenia and the biological daughter of Queen Sindel, as well as an adopted daughter of the evil Emperor Shao Kahn. She’s got an evil, ugly twin sister. She’s got a hot ass friend named Jade. And she’s got a thing for Liu Kang. I can forgive that last part. But man, I remember the first time I laid eyes on Kitana. I had never seen anything like her in a video game before. She was the total package. Beauty, grace and speed–all the things an other-worldly assassin should be. But none of that seemed to matter because I just could help but wait for a wardrobe malfunction.
Cammy
When Cammy came along she gave Chun Li a run for her money in the race for the title of hottest Street Fighter beauty. Originally showing up as an employee of M. Bison’s Shadaloo forces, Cammy then jumped ship and became one of the good guys. So we know she’s got a good side and very likely a very bad side. That multifaceted concept is what kept us fighting through her defection in the first game. Ha! Not really. We did it because she fought in only a thong leotard and a beret. And that is why we love her. Beauty, booty and brains.
Morrigan Aensland
How many of the other Capcom beauties can say that they were so lusted after that they even got used to spice up a bad golf game? Yep, that’s how much every dude who has ever seen her has wanted to see her everywhere. This sexy succubus has been everywhere that Capcom has and has become nearly synonymous with the Capcom brand of fighting games. Even though Darkstalkers had one other blatant hottie in it, Morrigan is just sex incarnate when she steps on the scene. I mean, she’s a succubus. Why wouldn’t she be hot?
Tifa Lockhart
She is undoubtedly one of the hottest ladies in gaming history. She’s beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. She cares for people and heals them when they’re wounded. She watches over children that are not her own and tends to their wellbeing. But deeper still, she possesses a fire that burns hotter than the sun. And if you are the unlucky one to be on the receiving end of her latent wrath, beware. It may be the last thing you ever see. Although, that really wouldn’t be a bad last thing to see.
Aya Brea
Aya is undoubtedly the hottest New York Cop in a game ever. But, apart from that, I can’t think of another single female cop character that made me rethink the concept of digital crushes like Aya Brea. Not only was she smokin’-ass hot, she was also a total badass in the Parasite Eve series. There have been whispers that someone out there is planning a resurgence of the PE series. That, I am totally fine with. I mean, why would I not want to see more Aya? Actually, if they can do for Aya and the PE series what they did with Tomb Raider , I would be one happy dude.
