10 Reasons the Force is Strong with Star Wars: Battlefront

10 Reasons the Force is Strong with Star Wars: Battlefront

This title comes packed with a wide variety of missions, original landscapes, and everyone’s favorite characters – not to mention the game looks stunning. We are just about as geeked for the game as anyone and we’d like to display our enthusiasm in the only way we know how. Let’s take a look at this week’s top 10 Reasons We Can’t Wait to Play Star Wars: Battlefront .

The Beta

The Beta

The Star Wars: Battlefront beta was a sign of good things to come when it opened to the public last month. The controls were smooth, the landscapes were beautiful, and all of our old favorites seemed to show up in some form or another. Yes, the beta received mixed reviews, but that’s the entire point of the offering – to polish out any shortcomings. Let’s put aside the fact that nearly 10 million users played the beta, which broke beta launch records, the game simply looked and felt great in it’s unfinished form. Needless to say, we’re stoked to see the completed version on launch day.

AT-ATs and AT-STs

AT-ATs and AT-STs

Need I say more, my fellow Star Wars nerds? Yes, Battlefront will feature both the All-Terrain Armored Transport and the All-Terrain Scout Transport from the Imperial fleet. Not only will these two iconic vehicles be featured within the game, but players can actually climb aboard the both the Chicken Walker and the Imperial Walker to lay waste to anything in sight.

Most Authentic Star Wars Gaming Experience to Date

Most Authentic Star Wars Gaming Experience to Date

When Star Wars: Battlefront debuts next week, it will officially be the most authentic gaming experience to ever feature the famed franchise. In fact, developer DICE scanned actual film props and implemented original sounds from the first three films in order to capture the authentic nature of Star Wars and all its greatness.

Trophies and Achievements

Trophies and Achievements

Star Wars: Battlefront will come packed with over 40 Xbox One Achievements and PlayStation 4 Trophies that are unique to the Star Wars brand. The trophies/achievements seem to progress in difficulty and even include some remembrances from the original trilogy. Here’s to hoping Master Yoda makes his appearance in some form or fashion.

Multiplayer Warfare

Multiplayer Warfare

The game will feature a series of massive 40-person multiplayer options that span across 12 rather large maps. Walker Assault, Supremacy, and Heroes vs Villains will feature the 40-man platform with a few more offerings said to be on the way in the future. This can only spell pure awesomeness as the multiplayer options should closely replicate the carnage seen within big battles during the Star Wars films – not to mention, this type of massive multiplayer option is long overdue for console gamers.

Laser Weapons: No Ammo Required

Laser Weapons: No Ammo Required

Finally, a laser weapon that doesn’t need to be reloaded because, well, it’s a laser and those don’t require bullets to function. I know, it’s a small reason to be excited, but nonetheless, it’s a welcomed change from the previous Battlefront and just about any title that’s used laser guns in the history of forever. Fear not, my purist friends, for the laser weapons do come stocked with a recharging function in order to avoid frantic firing for hours on end. At last, the galaxy will indeed see some form of noob balance!

Classic Star Wars Characters

Classic Star Wars Characters

“The Force is strong with this one.” Players will finally have the opportunity to play as everyone’s favorite original Star Wars characters in DICE’s newest addition. Everyone from Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia Organa, Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo, to even Boba Fett is an option with Star Wars: Battlefront . Finally, I can flip around like Luke Skywalker and not be ashamed of it.

Fighter Squadron

Fighter Squadron

Not only will Star Wars: Battlefront feature a few 40-person multiplayer offerings, but the game will also include Fighter Squadron – a 20-person dogfighting simulator that includes the famed Millennium Falcon, X-wings, and the highly versatile TIE Fighter. To top it off, DICE provided players with the option to choose between first and third-person views when taking to the skies, which is a much-appreciated addition. Darth Vader and his goon squad of Imperials are going down.

So Many Collectibles

So Many Collectibles

The Star Wars brand has cultivated a rather impressive display of film-related merchandise and an equally impressive group of collectors to acquire them. In true Star Wars fandom fashion, DICE has included a wealth of collectibles for players to discover while on their journey throughout the galaxy. We got a taste of this during the Tatooine Survival mission when the beta was up and running. However, the game is said to include and number of other non-mission related collectibles and hidden Easter Eggs along the way as well.

R2-D2 and C-3PO

R2-D2 and C-3PO

No Star Wars game would be complete without the lovable droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO. The duo is said to play a significant role within the upcoming title, even though little detail has been provided. Regardless, having R2-D2 and C-3PO make an appearance in Star Wars: Battlefront will add the finishing touches to what already seems to be an epic blast from the past. Let’s hope their lack of agility doesn’t haunt them on the battlefield of DICE’s latest Star Wars offering. “Beep-Bloop-Blop-Bleep-Boop” never sounded so good.
