7 Biggest Leaks (That Came True)

Know what’s incredible? When somehow, major game news slips through the cracks. Every year, games leak. Sometimes, it is a retailer responsible. (Shout out to Walmart Canada.) A rating board or trademark could out a new title Maybe a company even accidentally spills its own secret! Well, all of that happened ahead of E3 2019. The leaks were out in full force, and they were super delicious.

The Bleeding Edge leak was a surprising one. Ahead of Microsoft’s E3 2019 media briefing, a full announcement and gameplay snippet appeared for this 4v4 game. It is an online melee game where teams attempt to beat each other up. Also, it’s by Ninja Theoru, the company known for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and DMC: Devil May Cry. This rumor even included the technical alpha launch date, which is June 27, 2019.

Way back in 2017, Square Enix did something cool in Japan. It released a Seiken Densetsu Collection for the Nintendo Switch, which gave people the Japanese versions of Final Fantasy Adventure, Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3 . It never showed up anywhere else. Except, ahead of E3 2019, the European Union Intellectual Property Office had a new trademark from Square Enix for Collection of Mana . Which is exactly what this is. Coincidentally, the company had a new game at E3 2019! Huh!

A new Tales game is on the way! This leak was a part of multiple Bandai Namco details that showed up on an official website way ahead of time. What we know so far is that it is an Unreal Engine 4 action-RPG for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Sometimes, you just need a good JRPG. This certainly looks like it could be one.

Ahead of E3 2019, Sony announced Borderlands: The Handsome Collection would be a part of its June 2019 PlayStation Plus lineup. Okay, great. We needed a good game there and it will help prepare for Borderlands 3 later in 2019. Except then, a rumor appeared. Gearbox was going to release to release DLC for Borderlands 2 called Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary, which would act as a bridge into the new game. Quite the major leak, right?

Amazon UK made a boo-boo. There were rumors about a new Watch Dogs game. Ubisoft didn’t do a great job of hiding it. But ahead of E3 2019, a product listing went up for Watch Dogs Legion. It will be a new entry set in London. Any NPC you recruit will be able to be a playable character. It sounds pretty cool, and hearing about it slightly ahead of time was a great way to hype folks up.

Okay. So. George R. R. Martin, of A Song and Fire Ice fame, revealed a while back that he consulted with a Japanese company on a video game. After he brought that up, rumors started going around that he was working with FromSoftware, the company behind Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice , on a new title. Then, ahead of E3 2019, Bandai Namco’s website leaked Elden Ring, It will be a new PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC game. We’re excited!

Ahead of E3 2019, we ended up seeing lots of Cyberpunk 2077 leaks! A standard edition showed up. It was later followed by a collector’s edition. Both of these turned out to be real! All because the game actually had a release date! It’ll be out April 16, 2020! Keanu Reeves will be in it! There will be special editions with statues and extra DLC! It is so exciting, all of the exclamation points had to be added.
